Barnsley is to host its first book festival to celebrate the "best local and national literature and art" in 2024
The event will bring a range of authors, poets, writers and artists to the town from 2 February to 23 March.
Organised by Barnsley Libraries, there will be a number of family activities and speakers at various venues.
New art commissioned for the event will also be showcased.
Wendy Cain, Barnsley Council's cabinet spokesperson for public health and communities, said: "We are extremely excited for next year's Barnsley Book Festival showcasing some of the best local and national literature and art."
She said the festival showed Barnsley Libraries remained committed to making art and culture "more accessible to our local communities".
Highlights already confirmed include conversations with the UK's leading military historian Richard Van Emden and novelist Catherine Curzon.
Romance novelist Millie Johnson will also feature and Andrew McMillan will speak about his debut novel.
The majority of events are free, but booking will be required.
