APSU Men's Basketball Team Defeats Sacramento State Men's Basketball in Exciting Rally

deMarcus Sharp and Sai Witt each scored 26 points to help the State College men's basketball team to a 74-71 victory.

The Austin Peay State University men's basketball team (2 wins, 5 losses) came back from a 10-point halftime deficit to defeat Sacramento State (1 win, 6 losses), 74-71. The win marked the Governors' first victory in the state of California and their first in as many meetings with the Hornets.

The Governors shot 50 percent from the field and 75 percent from the free throw line.

DeMarcus Sharp and Sai Witt combined for 54 points, while Sacramento State's scoring leaders Zee Hamada and Brandon Bateson combined for 32 points. Sharp was 4-of-8 from the field and 11-of-14 from the free throw line in the second half, while Witt was 8-of-9 from the free throw line for 12 points and six rebounds in the final 20 minutes.
